Challenge

One Child Matters was looking to produce a video that communicated the work they’re doing in Ethiopia. They planned to premiere the video at the James River Church’s women’s conference for 8,000+ women in hopes of increasing sponsors.

Approach

Our goal in producing this impact film was to tell the story from the perspective of two young girls that benefitted from One Child Matters’ ministry. We achieved this by interviewing each of the girls and their mothers and letting them share their stories and hardships.

To help the audience connect to the characters, we wanted to show what their day to day looked like. We’re intentional about sharing stories in an authentic way that does not victimize or exploit the beneficiaries.

We cut back and forth between each of the girl’s stories and and then introduce the resolution toward the end with their introduction to One Child Matters and how they were able to receive help & education.  We then end with a call-to-action to encourage others to sponsor a child.

Results

This impact film was so well received that the conference ran out of sponsorship packets that year, which had never happened in years prior!

Hundreds upon hundreds of children were sponsored and their lives forever changed.
